Job description: SimIS is seeking a highly skilled Data Center IT Infrastructure Professional to ensure that data servers and networks perform optimally. In this role, your duties will include being part of an experienced team that provides design, develop, install, and upgrade of system components, as well as providing network support. You will also be required to perform maintenance and repairs on servers and network equipment.

Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit extensive experience in ensuring optimal efficiency of data center infrastructure.
  • Create and sustain a well-functioning and reliable network to ensure the unobtrusive operation of business.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent loss of data and damage to networks.
  • Monitor and perform maintenance on servers and network equipment.
  • Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Provide IT support to staff and customers, as well as responding to the server and network issues.
  • Protect company data by preventing the overheating of data center components.
  • Run hardware diagnostics and replace failing parts in a timely manner.
  • Monitor all network processes to ensure the smooth flow of data across the network.
  • Collaborate with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency.
  • Upgrade internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
  • Document processes and keeping event logs.
  • Advise on the procurement of new data center equipment.
  • Keep track of developing trends in data center technologies.
  • Perform and maintain configuration management for IS/IT/Cyber systems, networks, Windows, and Linux based devices.
  • Willingness to respond to network and server errors after hours.
  • Assist in IT asset management functions, including tracking and auditing of assets and participating in the proper disposal of assets.
  • Provide support for networking equipment, follow maintenance standards, and develop new strategies to optimize server and cloud operations.
  • Work with other IT team members, supervisors, and end-users to identify and work on connectivity problems, manage complex system requirements, create technical documentation for users and administrators, and develop cloud migration strategies for legacy and new applications as requested by customers.
  • Work with other IT personnel and teams to ensure that computer systems and networks remain secure and reliable, monitor network availability, vulnerability, and collect data to enhance security, reliability, and availability.
  • Balance technical knowledge with network and data infrastructure experience to manage and maintain cloud computing environment(s) and third-party cloud computing platforms.
  • Maintain reliable system performance through active monitoring of error logs and user-reported network issues. Conduct regular tests to ensure that the system meets expectations for speed, security, reliability, and availability. Also work with the data center team to conduct routine system audits, making recommendations to improve reliability and performance.
  • Review, assess, and provide recommendations on infrastructure architecture and appliance configurations to protect system security. Work with end users to determine needs of individual customers.
  • Ensure that data remains intact, secure, and accessible in case of system crashes by conducting data backups. Determine when to back up or transfer data and take the network offline with the least amount of impact or interruption to customers and verify data to ensure a successful backup.


  • Requires 3-5 years of progressive experience as a Data Center Technician/Engineer, or similar as an individual contributor.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
  • Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
  • Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
  • Proficiency in documenting network processes.
  • Ability to conduct troubleshooting, which requires both technical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about supporting hyperscale data centers and experienced working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, collaborative, and dedicated team player who provides IT network / systems administration subject matter expertise and guidance to successfully complete complex tasks.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a Windows or Linux platform with advanced IT network / system skills.
  • Outstanding written (prose, editing, proofreading and presentation) and oral communications skills, especially the ability to articulate complex strategic situations and strategies and to effectively communicate to various audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).


  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar STEM field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar STEM field highly desired.
  • CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network, MSCA, CCNA, CCNP, CCENT, CISSP or other related industry certification(s) are highly desired. Candidate will have or receive Security+ certification within 6-months of employment.
