The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of IT Manager. The successful candidate will manage the timely delivery of high-quality data according to international coding rules from the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry (NICR) team for analysis, clinical audits and preparation of official statistics while ensuring data confidentiality and adherence to data protection, governance and ethical rules and requirements.

The IT Manager will facilitate establishment and maintenance of valuable clinical and strategic networks locally, nationally and internationally to ensure the sustainability of NICR and linked research deliverables in accordance with the University’s Vision 2020 while also addressing the audit and strategic planning cancer related information needs of the Northern Ireland Health Service.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Educated to Honours degree or have substantial relevant experience.
  • 5 years relevant experience working in Cancer registration.
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff
  • Experience of project management.
  • Experience in managing physical resources e.g. buildings, equipment, datasets etc.
  • Experience in being responsible for the integrity of health data for Health Service and/or research use’
