The IT Desktop Support Technician at Gold’s Gym is a hands-on technical role responsible for maintaining and supporting the end-user computing environment across all Gold’s Gym SoCal locations. This includes desktop and laptop computers, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, printers, networking peripherals, and a wide range of fitness business-specific applications. The technician is also responsible for Tier 1 troubleshooting, account management, and contributing to the stability and security of IT operations in a dynamic, multi-location fitness organization.Gold’s Gym employee:

This role requires professionalism, excellent customer service skills, technical competency, and the ability to prioritize and resolve issues independently or in coordination with the broader IT team. ROLE IS TRAVELING- MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO EACH LOCATION.Essential Job Functions
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 workstations and laptops using company-approved golden images.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to club staff, regional teams, and corporate employees.
- Support systems including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, FortiClient VPN, Box, Adobe, HubSpot SSO, and ABC DataTrak.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding procedures, including provisioning accounts through ManageEngine AD Manager and assigning licenses and distribution lists.
- Maintain and troubleshoot POS stations, scanners, receipt printers, label printers, and membership kiosks.
- Monitor and resolve tickets in SolarWinds Service Desk, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Support endpoint security tools and ensure compliance with Microsoft Defender and exposure management policies.
- Participate in weekly equipment audits and enforce IT asset control protocols.
- Maintain network connectivity at the club level, working with managed switch hardware and escalating broader WAN issues to the network team.
- Travel frequently to local gyms for deployments, maintenance, or user support.
- This position requires occasional evening or weekend support during critical system maintenance or emergency outages. A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail is essential.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop environments, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems (preferably SolarWinds) and remote management tools.
- Working knowledge of endpoint management, antivirus, patching, and imaging.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to document work clearly, and communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (PCs, monitors, printers) as needed.
- Review and resolve assigned IT support tickets with proper prioritization.
- Ability to affectively update device inventory and ensure accuracy in asset management.
- Knowledge of how to deploy scheduled software updates and patches.
- Check and update documentation, procedures, and local club IT checklists.
- Reimage PCs and laptops as needed using standardized images.
- Perform club IT health checks (connectivity, POS, printing, kiosk functionality).
- Participate in IT team meetings and submit reporting on support trends and challenges.
This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 35 lbs.
