Urgently needed for
HR/People Generalist
Company: Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors, Inc.
- Oversees and coordinates new hire onboarding, orientation and setups in company and vendor systems for union and non-union employees.
- Coordinate pre-employment and random background tests and drug testing processes, tracking test results and Invoice payments
- Support wage and salary administration including processing rate and position changes.
- Leave of Absence coordination with APi Group Benefits team.
- Assist with annual and mid-year performance review process to ensure evaluations are scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
- Administer employee benefits programs by processing enrollments, changes and terminations.
- Assist with Annual Enrollment and Year-End HRIS tasks
- Assist with implementation and administer larger HR projects, policies, procedures and training sessions.
- Monthly audit and reconciliation of Benefits, 401k and clean HRIS data
- Produce, reconcile reports and audits to ensure accuracy.
- First line of contact for employee questions on benefits, pay, performance, IDPs, system access, timekeeping, open enrollment etc.
- Process terminations and perform offboarding activities.
- Process unemployment claims.
- Completes audits and maintains accurate and up-to-date Personnel files, records and documentation.
- Ensures adherence and compliance to all state and federal laws and regulations.
- Cross-train on tasks to continue learning and provide backup support.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:
- BA/BS in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience and education.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources generalist experience or a combination of experience in two or more human resources specialty areas.
- Ability to handle issues, solve problems, and make decisions based on common sense, background research, and sensitivity.
- Prior experience with bargaining unit employees preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capacity to work on a high performing team
- Skilled at managing many tasks / multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude, act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Driven to help teammates to win
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
