Responsibilities
The Education Specialist assists the Office of Required Learning and Required Learning Governance Committee Leadership. This individual is expected to exercise initiative, exhibit organizational skills, and use problem-solving and decision-making skills to perform tasks. The Education Specialist will work in conjunction with course owners to request and develop compliance and regulatory educational materials/courses/programs for Mayo Clinic.
This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to any of the Mayo Clinic campuses.
**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with 5 or more years of experience in education, business or health related field is required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction. Proven ability to support development of education and training programs. Demonstrated strong skills in communication, problem solving and decision making. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team supporting the Office of Required Learning, students and/or faculty. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must develop mastery of the policies and procedures related to compliance, regulatory education and training programs. Database experience and systems knowledge are required. Proficiency with technology and software to enhance classroom learning and manage program data is required. Must be adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment where constant learning and skill enhancement is needed. Must have excellent writing and editing skills for preparation of professional correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes. Must have the ability to independently compose correspondence including letters, e-mails and announcements that are sensitive, confidential, and diplomatic.
