Job description: Our long-term, Dallas-based client is in search of a Desktop Technical Analyst with proficiency in PC workstation software support, hardware maintenance, and advanced customer support experience. This hybrid/remote, 1+ year contract opportunity.What BCT offers:

Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain personal computer software and hardware in compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure employees comply with copyright laws as they pertain to software use
  • Install and maintain network printers and multi-functional print devices to support the print requirements of employees
  • Receive and process escalated calls. Continue to escalate calls of a complex nature to designated levels of responsibility
  • Train employees on the use of personal computer software and hardware, and related desktop peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot personal computer software, hardware, and other related desktop peripheral devices
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with personal computer software and hardware, and related desktop peripheral devices
  • Work with the appropriate IT resources throughout the company to recommend, define, and configure the appropriate hardware specifications, operating system settings, and software installations for personal computers
  • Ensure that the necessary software products (i.e.: security and encryption software, desktop automation tools, etc.) are installed on personal computers to meet the requirements for connection to company network facilities
  • Coordinate and assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all personal computer software and hardware
  • Keep abreast of changes in programming languages, operating systems, utilities, application software, hardware, and computer system technology to ensure optimum results are achieved

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS, Business, or related field and 2 years of related technical experience; OR an Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS, or Business and 4 years of related technical experience; OR a high school education or the equivalent and 6 years of related technical experience
  • Experience in supporting a large number of users (3000+)
  • Experience with an automated system for pushing out patches and software
  • Experience in the computer imaging process
  • The ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals
