Duration: 6 MonthsJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Bronx, NY. The successful candidate will provide front-line IT support across multiple locations within the New York City Health + Hospitals (NYCHHC) enterprise. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of end-user devices, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to support our clients effectively.Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize system management tools such as Jamf, Apple Business Manager, Device Automation, Jamf Connect, and Workspace One for client device management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to various operating systems including Windows, Linux, Chrome, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, as well as associated peripherals.
  • Ensure operating system upgrades are performed on devices, and test upgrades and applications using service automation tools.
  • Collaborate with device and application engineers to test, configure, and maintain desktop and device application solutions.
  • Analyze incident tickets, manage incoming calls, and support requests, determining the appropriate strategy for resolution.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting for end-user devices, coordinating with local technical staff when necessary.
  • Travel to various NYCHHC facilities within the five boroughs to provide onsite support and proactive maintenance.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the End User Innovations team when necessary.
  • Use diagnostic tools to address problems related to network connectivity, hardware, software, and applications.
  • Perform preventative and remedial maintenance on end-user devices and authorized peripherals.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of facilities to validate and verify the location of supported equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with warranty requirements and maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and restoration activities.
  • Adhere to EITS and NYCHHC guidelines, processes, and procedures, providing exceptional customer service to end-users.
  • Manage time effectively, set priorities, schedule calls, and maintain professionalism under stress.
  • Ensure compliance with attendance and timesheet policy standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Front-line, level 1 IT support experience within an enterprise environment, preferably within a hospital or corporate office setting.
  • Experience monitoring and managing Service Desk phone, email, and request queues.
  • Proven ability to provide real-time support and exceed service level requirements and end-user expectations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with installing and configuring Windows 7 & 10 in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in desktop support and wireless network technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • ITIL Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and install equipment up to 50 lbs.

Equipment/Machines Operated:

  • General office equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, and phones.
  • Extensive experience supporting Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite.
  • Experience with Droid, iOS, and other PDA devices.
  • Proficient in remote support tools such as WebEx and RDP.
  • Experience in imaging and deploying laptops and desktops.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
  • At least one year of experience in a business, government, hospital, educational institution, or non-profit organization, with expertise in systems analysis, development, implementation, and data coordination.
  • Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or a relevant field is desirable.
  • A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs.
