Job description: Title: Desktop Support Technician (Contract) – Job#5681Location: Auburn, MEJob Description:Our client is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site technical support in Auburn, ME. This short-term role will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting audio-visual and computing equipment, delivering Tier 1 support for enterprise applications, and assisting with infrastructure-related issues. The position also involves installing, configuring, and maintaining software, replacing computer lab equipment, and offering both desk-side support and remote support for other locations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to provide high-quality customer service to faculty, staff, and students.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and troubleshoot classroom audio-visual and computing equipment
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for enterprise applications and infrastructure issues
- Install, configure, and maintain campus-specific software and services
- Replace and upgrade computer lab equipment
- Deliver desk-side support and remote support to other locations
- Assist faculty, staff, and users with hardware and software use in labs
- Research, develop, and maintain desktop documentation
- Provide recommendations on current technologies and process improvements
Required Skills:
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems
- Proficiency in providing in-person IT support
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Teams
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks
- Ability to support both local and remote users effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
