At Virtual Technologies Group, we are dedicated to shaping the future of technology and making a positive impact on the world.Position OverviewVirtual Technologies Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide exceptional end-user support to our clients, with a particular focus on municipal agencies and public safety organizations, including law enforcement. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and a professional, service-oriented approach to supporting critical IT operations.Day-To-Day Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site and remote desktop support for end users, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Respond to and resolve technical incidents and service requests via ticketing systems such as JITBIT or similar platforms.
- Support Microsoft Windows operating environments and associated hardware and software.
- Manage and troubleshoot mobile devices across Android and iOS platforms using mobile device management (MDM) tools.
- Maintain and support VoIP systems, including configuration and end-user assistance.
- Collaborate with municipal departments and public safety entities, ensuring compliance with security protocols and operational continuity.
- Accurately document all work, service requests, and incident responses.
- Maintain business licensure and proper insurance coverage at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT end-user support.
- Proven experience supporting public sector environments, particularly municipal agencies and law enforcement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows environments and support tools.
- Hands-on experience with mobile device management platforms.
- Understanding of VoIP technologies and troubleshooting.
- Valid business license and current insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent certification.
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- Experience using JITBIT Help Desk or comparable ticketing systems.
- Local presence for on-site support and rapid response.
- References from previous or similar technical support engagements.
