Job description: Title: Desktop Support EngineerLocation: Cleveland, Ohio (Onsite)Job Type: Full TimeKey Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide first-level support to end users for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, ensuring minimal disruption to user productivity.
- Installation & Configuration: Set up, configure, and install new hardware and software, including operating systems imaging, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and hardware/software inventory using ticketing systems and documentation tools.
- Asset Management: Assist in the tracking and management of IT assets, including hardware inventory, software licenses, and warranties.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to escalate and resolve complex technical issues and improve overall IT service delivery.
- Remote Support: Utilize remote desktop tools to assist users in troubleshooting issues without the need for on-site visits.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures, including monitoring for potential security breaches and reporting them to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in a helpdesk or end-user support capacity.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows Desktop 10 & 11 is a must, some macOS operating systems, as well as mobile device support (iOS and Android).
- Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and business applications.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) for tracking and managing support requests.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are preferred.
- Additional certifications in HP or Dell hardware a plus.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and support.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Team Leadership experience: Also a plus.
- Health Care IT experience: Also, a plus.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while conforming to enterprise standard policies.
Work Environment:
- The position involves working in Hospital & office environments, with occasional travel to different locations for on-site support as needed. The role will typically require lifting and moving computer equipment and peripherals.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Campuses can be very large areas so extended walking from site to site is to be expected.
