Job description: Job Title: Desktop Support EngineerLocation: RemoteJob Summary: We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Remote Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a passion for solving technical issues. This role involves providing remote desktop support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and ensuring seamless IT operations. The candidate should be proficient in remote support tools and have excellent communication skills to assist users of varying technical levels.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote desktop support to end-users via phone, email, and remote access tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software.
- Support end-users with software applications, including operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business applications.
- Manage user accounts and permissions, including Active Directory and email systems.
- Document technical issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Assist with IT projects, including hardware and software upgrades.
- Provide guidance and training to end-users on IT best practices and security policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Familiarity with remote desktop support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop, AnyDesk).
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes.
- Knowledge of cloud-based services and virtualization technologies.
