Job description: Job Description:The Department of Corrections (DOC) requires Desktop Support staff to maintain a working knowledgeof our internal computer system. The technician will be in charge of repairing and maintainingthousands of desktops, laptops and other PC devices. They will also be installing new PC’s and laptopsto replace end of life cycle equipment. The technician will be doing those tasks while maintaininginventory and properly disposing of out dated equipment by recycling those items per DOC policies. Thetechnician will also maintain and close work orders in the DOC ticketing system. The technician receivesoversight from the Field Tech Manager to ensure that policy, procedure and methodology are beingfollowed.Desktop Support 4 – IS Technical Services Cons/AdminRequirementsThey will be based at the DOC Central Office ( CO ) located at 3099 E. Washington, Madison, WI 53704, however this tech will also be working at the DOC facilities assisting the regular field tech with project and problem tickets. When traveling to DOC facilities the tech will be paid mileage .51 cents per mile and their hourly wage for travel time. When working at CO they are not paid mileage and for travel time. The tech has the option to work 4 ten hours days with Friday offs, to work 5 eight-hour days or could also work 9 day 9 hours two-week schedule with one Friday off per two-week time period.Top Skills (3) & Years of Experience: 2 years of experience required.– Remote trouble shooting– Customer service/interaction with users during device setup– Imaging DevicesNice to Have:– Any AV integration experience is highly sought after.– Must be able to work independently but in a team environment.– Must be able to meet deadlines.– Must be able to multi-task and balance their workday.
