Job description: 13573 – Desktop Asset Technician (onsite with some travel) –Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the clientRequired:
- Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in West Palm Beach, FL (required);
Experience with various types of computer equipment and peripherals (e.g., computers, monitors, keyboards, cables).
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and equipment documentation.
Valid driver’s license, as travel to remote locations may be required.
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Set up and deploy a variety of desktop computers and peripherals across District office locations.
- Collect and sanitize (wipe) hard drives, organize, document, box, shrink-wrap, and transport equipment for surplus or disposal.
- Scan new and old equipment to update the asset management database and create a detailed inventory list.
- Assist with unloading, unboxing, and staging new hardware, and install standard and customer-specific software images and applications.
- Deliver and set up new equipment, ensuring network connectivity and functionality, while removing old systems for disposal.
- Resolve installation issues with Windows 11, Office 365, Teams, network connectivity, Citrix, and other hardware or software as required.
- Organize and prepare legacy hardware for surplus by categorizing items, preparing lists, and moving equipment to designated areas.
