Job description: Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a professional search firm, seeking a Customer Service RepresentativePosition Summary:
Responsible for direct customer contact in all areas relating to inquiries, orders, order entry, pricing, scheduling, delivery dates, shipping information, and disposing of customer complaints and questions. Provides effective and quality customer service for all customers by utilizing knowledge of company products and services as well as team members within the Customer Service Department. All customer contact is by telephone, fax, or email. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email concerning orders, returns, shipments and products, as well as, price, availability, and discount if eligible
  • Receive and enter phone, fax, and email orders
  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates
  • Work with production, shipping, warehouse, or other personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments
  • Work with Accounting to resolve disputed credit items
  • Call customers when necessary to advise shipments delay and/or information necessary to process orders
  • Make changes to or cancel orders/backorders
  • Handle the initial return process with the customer by giving or denying approval
  • Handle disposition of returned goods
  • Initiate orders for replacement parts and/or correcting errors (shortages, wrong item shipped, etc.)
  • Initiate file maintenance for customer data files
  • Handle irate customers in a professional manner
  • Prepare export shipment paperwork
  • Assist sales team with customer inquiries and the sales process
  • Continue to educate on all product as to assist customer with product selection and parts
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in some units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  • Experience with an ERP system preferred but not necessary

Required education and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training

This is an hourly, contract-to-hire role offering full medical, dental, and insurance benefits.
