Job description: Title Azure Virtual Desktop ArchitectContract 2-3 MonthsLocation – RemoteWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Architect to join our team. As a AVD Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtual desktop solutions that leverage Azure platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design scalable and secure architectures, and ensure a smooth deployment and operation of virtual desktop environments.Responsibilities Solution Design: Architect end-to-end virtual desktop solutions by analyzing business requirements, assessing existing infrastructure, and designing scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures. Azure Virtual Desktop Configuration: Configure and manage Azure virtual machines, session hosts, virtual networks, and storage to create and maintain Azure virtual desktop environments. Ensure proper image management, user profile management, and application delivery mechanisms.Identity and Access Management: Design and implement identity and access management strategies, including integration with Azure Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls for virtual desktop environments.Network Infrastructure: Design and configure network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure, including network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers, to ensure secure and efficient data transfer.Performance Optimization: Optimize virtual desktop environments for performance, scalability, and user experience. Monitor and tune resource allocation, load balancing, and network bandwidth to ensure optimal performance.Security and Compliance: Implement security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements, to protect virtual desktop environments and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss. Create redundancy mechanisms, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up monitoring tools and processes to proactively monitor the virtual desktop infrastructure. Identify and troubleshoot performance issues, system errors, and network connectivity problems to maintain a stable and reliable environment.Documentation and Collaboration: Create design documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure teams, security teams, and application owners, to ensure successful deployment and ongoing management of virtual desktop solutions. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Strong knowledge of Azure virtual desktop services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, and virtual networks.Experience in network design, including connectivity options, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, including Azure Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls. Understanding of performance optimization techniques, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies. Knowledge of security best practices, data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements. Experience in designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions for virtual desktop environments. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
