In this role, you’ll develop and implement innovative virtual coaching strategies tailored for online learners, guiding them individually and in affinity groups along their career development paths. You’ll provide expert advice in areas such as self-awareness, career awareness, interest, fit, and skills, while offering constructive feedback on their progress. Additionally, you’ll coach students in translating technical skills into business competencies. This position may require occasional travel (less than 10%).QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Instructional Design and Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experienceSix years of related experiencePreferred Qualifications:Four years of program coordination or closely related experienceExperience working with online/distance education students in higher educationProfessional experience in career services or providing academic support for career path planningSome leadership experienceProfessional experience guiding students’ career development and career decision-makingProfessional experience as a recruiter with talent acquisition emphasisExperience of working with people across business disciplines like MIS, HR, Marketing, and AccountingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office facetsStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent written, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skillsExperience with virtual career coaching and online program deliveryKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to use Generative AI tools securely in supporting students and enhancing everyday tasksProficiency with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual collaboration toolsAbility to work independently once given a projectAbility to manage multiple, ongoing programs and servicesCareer Advising / Coaching / MentoringResponsibilitiesDevelop/Implement Career Coaching/Advising:Develop and implement virtual coaching strategies and tools specifically designed for online learnersIndividually and in affinity groups, work with Flex Online MS students to support their growth along a career development pathAdvise and guide in areas including self-awareness, career awareness, interest, fit, and skillsReview, assess, and provide students with constructive feedback on progress and actions in each career development areaWork with students to guide, critique, and revise multiple forms of written & verbal communicationCoach/advise students in resume/cover letter/LinkedIn profile development, interview preparation, networking skills, professional presence, elevator pitch, personal brand development, and how to translate technical skills into business competenciesCareer Program Operations:Coordinate continuous improvement of career programing onlineCarry out and oversee ongoing and recurring career program operation activities to include compiling and distributing resume books, administering relevant employment websites, career data management, preparing employer materials, and other operational and administrative tasks as assignedCollaborate with employers to develop opportunities suited for Flex Online MS students across business disciplinesFacilitate virtual employer connections and networking opportunities for remote studentsEducation/Training:Delivers state-of-the-art career education and readiness programs for Flex Online MS students virtuallySets new standards in online career education and preparationProvides students with lifelong career management skills tailored to their specific program focus emphasizing the transition to a business-oriented career pathCreates asynchronous career development resources accessible to students on demandWho we areTexas A&M University’s Mays Business School is a vibrant learning organization of more than 175 faculty members, 125 staff members, and 6,400 undergraduate and graduate students in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, marketing, and supply chain management.
