Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining Azure-based integration services. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will be the technical owner of the squad’s product portfolio, driving innovation and maintaining best practices in integration and cloud engineering.
Location: Deeside (with flexible working – minimum 2 days in the office)

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Design, build, and maintain Azure-based integration services.
- Ensure solutions adhere to best practices in integration and cloud engineering.
- Manage technical risks, including aging software and architectural vulnerabilities.
- Support the remediation of technical debt and ensure robust documentation.
Team Management
- Mentor and line manage junior engineers.
- Collaborate with the Software Development Manager and Principal Engineers to refine the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Work with Business Analysts and testers to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
Product Ownership
- Ensure products have up-to-date documentation, including best practices and support runbooks.
- Maintain a strong support model and manage its success.
- Focus on quality, from unit test coverage to automated integration tests.
Innovation and Collaboration
- Stay updated on new technical developments and assess their relevance to the squad.
- Conduct brown bag sessions to share new technologies with the team.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers, the Software Development Manager, and the Solutions Architect to achieve team goals.
What We Are Looking For
Technical Skills
- Proven experience as a C# and .NET Engineer.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and C# in an integration team.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with team collaboration platforms like Azure DevOps.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
