Our client is an American multinational information technology services and consulting company and is a leading provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services, dedicated helping the world’s leading companies build stronger businesses.Title: Desktop Support Engineer – EUSWork Location: Irvine, CAJob Type: ContractWork Type: OnsiteDuration: 12+ MonthsJob Description:What are the top skills required for this role?Desktop Support at an Enterprise levelData centre Knowledge and Troubleshooting skillsHealth Care / life Sciences domain KnowledgeExcellent communication skillsResponsibilitiesPrevious Data Center / Computer room operational and technical experience.Working knowledge of how data center facilities infrastructure systems (power, cooling, security, fire-protection) work and operate to support the IT environment.Working knowledge of server / network systems, installation, operation, and maintenance practices.Working knowledge and understanding of network environments and topologies.Working knowledge of IT equipment and inter-connectivity to other subsystems.Good communication skills and prompt follow-up to replies and messages.Ability to communicate using various methods and media with local and remote support teams.Knowledge of IT, Networking, and Data Center infrastructure support terminologyHas knowledge / experience in applying IT Operational and Industry best practices.Performed and assisted with incident response, root cause analysis, reporting and CAPA resolutions.Experience with task ticketing system management and fulfillmentExperience in local IT asset identification, inventory, documentation, and management processes.Oversight of IT process adherence by local resources, vendors and technicians working in IT spaces.Oversight of onsite teams to ensure orderliness, cleanliness, and accessibility of all onsite IT spaces.Works independently with little to no direct supervision in analysis, design, and implementation of IT system solutions to fulfill business unit requirements.Problem-solving skills to assess and evaluate operational issues that are communicated to appropriate support teams in support of problem resolution.A demonstrated ability to encourage and model positive cross-team partnerships.Experience with Visio, or other CAD type application(s) to create and modify IT Space room and rack diagrams utilizing client provided templates and tool aides.Familiar with the following software applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Outlook, MS Teams, Google Chrome; Amazon Web Services (User)Minimum 5 years data center experienceCollege degree in Computer Science or similarMicrosoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent i.e. HP Accredited Systems Engineer (ASE)Data Center operational or technical certificationsNetwork operational or technical certificationsTekWissen Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
