Responsibilities

This position partners with departmental and institutional leadership by providing advanced analytics to increase efficiencies, throughput, and expense controls. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining department reporting dashboards, programs, and various reporting tools. Interprets and implements key performance indicators (KPI), fiscal compliance, expense management, policies, and regulations. Proactively identifies opportunities and recommendations to increase efficiency while preserving Mayo standards. Collaborates and partners cross-functionally while utilizing strategic and creative thinking to identify and monitor trends to anticipate department’s future needs and develop leading-edge approaches and recommendations.

Mentors, coaches, and trains departmental staff to build and establish analytical skillsets. Works independently or in a team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience in health care, finance, accounting, business, or systems; certifications may be considered in lieu of experience; Or, Master’s degree in health care, finance, accounting, business, or systems with 5 years’ relevant experience in noted areas; certifications may be considered in lieu of experience. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may be considered.Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to function independently required. Demonstrated oral communication skills required. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Tableau and SQL, Excel, including formulas, and data visualization. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Possesses human relations skills to interact with a variety of personnel. Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills, and candidate must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately.

Strong investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Solid customer-service skills; understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others. Experience should encompass all developing and implementing innovative strategies designed to reduce expenses and/or enhance revenue. Thorough experience with related products within clinical expertise areas preferred. Demonstrated abilities in developing strong relationships with physicians, clinicians, executives and vendors in order to facilitate and enhance best business practices leading to extensive year over year non-labor expense reductions.
