PDO Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of PM AJ&K Chaudhry Anwarul Haq. – Government of the State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Azad Kashmir Power Development Organization (PDO) was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Power Development Organization, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Daud Muhammad Bareech, Additional Chief Secretary for Development Atif Rahman, Secretary of Finance Islam Zaib, Senior Member of the Board of Revenue Zaheeruddin Qureshi, Secretary of Law, and Managing Director of PDO. Secretary of Electricity Irshad Ahmed Qureshi participated in the meeting via video link.

During the board meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, conditional approval was granted for the payment of salaries to the employees of the Power Development Organization. The board also approved the formation of a Reform Committee for PDO. A committee, headed by the Additional Chief Secretary for Development, was established, comprising the Secretary of Finance, Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, Secretary of Law, Secretary of Electricity, and the Managing Director of PDO. The committee will present comprehensive recommendations to the board within two weeks regarding PDO’s structure, budget, income, expenses, and other matters.

The board also approved the preparation of the PC-1 for the transmission line from Jagran to Noseri. The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir emphasized that the hydropower sector is of utmost importance, and the government is paying special attention to this sector. He added that the timely completion of hydropower projects would provide electricity facilities to the public and generate revenue.
