Job description: Vaco Atlanta is partnering with a rapidly growing retail and e-commerce company based in Smyrna, GA. They are seeking a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire (CTH) opportunity. This is a 100% onsite role. Only applicants who live in the Atlanta area will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Support monthly and year-end close processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy
- Assist with a major ERP transition from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite
- Reconcile credit card transactions, fixed assets, and employee-related expenses
- Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable, including invoice processing and approvals using Bill.com
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
- Analyze transactional data to identify discrepancies or process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure data consistency and alignment
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation and reporting requirements
- Participate in the development of scalable accounting processes and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
- 3–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting degree strongly preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and Bill.com
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Strong understanding of transactional accounting, reconciliations, and fixed asset tracking
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently
- Comfortable working in an evolving environment where priorities shift
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized
- Team player with solid communication skills
- Must be able to work in a casual, high-energy environment and stay focused despite occasional workplace tension or distractions
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
Expected salary: $35 – 40 per hour
