As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position, reporting to the Vice President of Finance, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of the company while gaining exposure to various accounting functions in a dynamic industry.Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions. Prepare and maintain Account Analysis.
- Month End Close: Assist in the preparation of month end, quarterly and yearly close.
- Commission Calculation: Calculate and record employee commissions accurately and timely, ensuring adherence to compensation policies.
- Budgets & Forecasts: Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning efforts.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Audit Assistance: Assist with year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors as required.
- Banking: Post daily entries. ACH/Wires, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting department and suggest solutions to increase efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a rental or equipment-based business.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong Excel Skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Concur Expense Reporting a plus.
- PowerPoint a plus
