Summary
This is an Open Continuous Announcement that will remain open until July 31, 2025, or until the position is filled. The first review of eligible applicants will take place on June 13, 2025, with subsequent reviews conducted periodically until the vacancy is filled.

Position Overview
The Caregiver Support Program (CSP) Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Assessor provides expert leadership and management of complex patient care within the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC). Responsibilities include:
- Managing eligibility and day-to-day operations of PCAFC within the assigned Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN).
- Providing nursing care and counseling based on systematic assessment, diagnosis, and evaluation.
- Ensuring thorough understanding of PCAFC clinical documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Applying critical thinking for comprehensive case reviews and care coordination in interdisciplinary settings.
- Matching veteran care needs with appropriate CSP services to support safety and recovery.
- Contributing nursing expertise to interdisciplinary team discussions and program improvements.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and assignments as needed.
Work Schedule & Benefits
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

Requirements & Conditions of Employment
- U.S. Citizenship required (non-citizens considered only when no qualified citizens available).
- Drug screening required prior to appointment; refusal disqualifies candidacy.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Background and security investigation required.
- Pre-employment physical exam and influenza vaccination mandatory.
- Compliance with I-9 documentation requirements (REAL ID enforcement effective May 7, 2025).
- Probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
- English proficiency required for direct patient care roles.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited) or equivalent (including foreign graduates with appropriate certification).
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
- Licensure exceptions available for Graduate Nurse Technicians (temporary appointments while pursuing licensure).
- Grade levels assigned based on education, experience, and demonstrated nursing competencies (Nurse I Levels I-III, Nurse II, Nurse III) detailed in the qualification standard.
- Experience (paid or volunteer) will be evaluated on five nursing dimensions: Practice, Veteran/Patient Driven Care, Leadership, Professional Development, and Evidence-Based Practice/Research.
