Description:

  • This position is part of the Infrastructure Operations group reporting into the End User Computing department.
  • This position also ensures the delivery, utilization and leveraging of applied information technology for global client groups at the minimum total cost of ownership.
  • The primary result is that information technology systems are reliable and seamlessly integrated with work processes and people so that technology is easy to use, self-serve, and helps individuals throughout the enterprise do things they never did before or do things they have been doing more effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible, under guidance of management, for executing established operational work processes and procedures to support and maintain information technology systems and infrastructure.
  • This includes actively participating in scheduled maintenance activities to ensure systems and infrastructure reliability, utilizing best practices and other methodologies to improve work process performance and results.
  • Consults with other experienced technologists to understand stakeholder impacts resulting from technology change.
  • The purpose of this activity is to sustain an ever-evolving information technology landscape, to enable innovative business solutions and to prudently exploit technology for the best value at acceptable risk.
  • Responsible, under direct guidance of management, for conducting all activities in compliance with Enterprise and Information Technology policies, guidelines, procedures, work processes and internal controls.
  • The purpose of this activity is to ensure Enterprise and Information Technology consistency, reliability, and integrity of performance and to preserve the highest level of stakeholder confidence.

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry-level position requiring either a degreed professional who possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering preferred, or a non-degreed professional with 1-4 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Should be able to resolve complex hardware and software problems using supported technologies as well as create these types of solutions when no other solution is readily available.
  • In addition, should be able to develop and/or provide consultation across multiple technical disciplines for proposed architectural solutions.
  • Should be able to coordinate and lead initiatives by providing direction to other less senior technical engineers.
  • This position must be proficient at exercising judgment with limited direction, time, and resources.
  • This individual must demonstrate basic technical expertise and knowledge in one of the following technology disciplines:
  • Must demonstrate strong skills in the following areas: Windows 10. Virtual Desktop Technologies Desktop imaging, Physical and Virtual (SCCM, MDT, WinPE, Ghost), MS Office 365, Remote Access Technologies, Scripting Tools (PowerShell, VB, etc.), Workstation troubleshooting techniques, Detail and systematic thinking, Written and oral communication, Technical organization and troubleshooting, Issue resolution and risk mitigation, Commitment to follow standards. The following skills and experience are a plus: Should possess a high level of knowledge of most current software technology (Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365. Enterprise messaging products through Teams, remote access technologies, Messaging, etc.), workstation and laptop configurations, server configurations, networking technologies and security. Requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must be able to strengthen and develop teamwork within group as well as across multiple groups. Must be very customer service oriented. Skilled at managing multiple tasks and projects effectively, engaging in conflict resolution and routinely interacting in cross-functional groups. Must be effective at transferring high-level technical knowledge within group as well as across multiple IT groups.
