Summary: Urgent Care Clinic Physician
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled and dedicated Urgent Care Clinic Physician to provide high-quality, timely care to Veterans. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering up to $200,000 in student loan repayment for qualified applicants. The EDRP application must be submitted within four months of hire, and eligibility is determined by the VA Education Loan Repayment Services.

Duties and Responsibilities
As a physician in the Urgent Care Clinic, your role includes, but is not limited to:
- Assessing patients and providing immediate treatment
- Performing histories, physical exams, and stabilizing care
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging
- Managing care coordination and referrals
- Providing clinical oversight for nurses, paramedics, and advanced practice providers
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and medical staff committees
- Managing acute and chronic conditions, including behavioral health crises
- Administering emergency procedures (e.g., CPR, intubation, defibrillation, central line placement)
- Performing wound care, suturing, and foreign body removal
- Supervising clinical trainees and participating in education efforts
- Ensuring proper and timely EHR documentation
- Maintaining clinical productivity in accordance with VA standards
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed in rare cases)
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited institution
- Full, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Board Certification in one of the core specialties
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in urgent/emergency care
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Physical Requirements
- Heavy lifting (up to 45 lbs), standing (6 hours/day), walking, kneeling
- Visual acuity and hearing requirements
- Use of fingers and hands for procedures
