Summary: Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support)
Title 32 Dual Status Technician Position — Wyoming Air National Guard
The 153rd Communications Squadron of the Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking qualified candidates for the role of IT Specialist (Customer Support). This Title 32 Excepted Service position supports a broad range of voice, data, wireless communications, and cybersecurity operations across the 153rd Airlift Wing, including Geographically Separated Units and tenant organizations.
This is a standing register announcement. Applications will be reviewed periodically on the following dates:

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current or prior service member of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard (Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard).
- Military affiliation is required.
- Must become a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard before appointment.
- Must possess or obtain AFSC 1D7X1 (Cyber Defense Operations).
- Must meet minimum ASVAB scores: 45 Mechanical and 60 Electrical.
- Must obtain and maintain IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA) within 6 months of appointment.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Position Overview
Location: 153rd Communications Squadron, 153rd Mission Support Group, Cheyenne, WY
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
Grade: GS-09 or GS-11 depending on experience
Military Grade Range: E-3/A1C to E-6/TSgt
Telework: Limited (case-by-case basis)
PCS: Not authorized
Relocation Incentive: May be authorized depending on eligibility and funding

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Tier I and II support for IT systems, including network infrastructure, wireless systems, voice systems, and Communications Focal Point (CFP) operations.
- Analyze and evaluate IT and cybersecurity network operations, both classified and unclassified.
- Manage IT trouble tickets and assist users with technical issues.
- Conduct cybersecurity assurance activities in compliance with DoD IA requirements.
- Occasionally work outside regular hours and respond to urgent issues.
Qualifications
GS-09:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 or a master’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field.
GS-11:
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 or a Ph.D./equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of higher-level graduate study in a related field.
Experience must reflect:
- IT troubleshooting and user support
- Computer programming, systems analysis, or application development
- Information flow and systems documentation
