Overview:
The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is hiring a passionate and qualified Social Studies Teacher for middle or high school students at Pine Ridge School. This is an on-site position responsible for delivering standards-based instruction in history, geography, civics, economics, and related fields in a culturally responsive environment.

Key Duties:
- Develop yearly instructional outlines and daily lesson plans with clear objectives and evaluation tools.
- Teach Social Studies using varied and culturally appropriate instructional methods.
- Assess student progress using oral, written, standardized, and criterion-referenced tests.
- Promote student engagement, interpersonal skills, and positive self-esteem.
- Maintain discipline and classroom order with minimal supervision.
- Supervise students during classes, transitions, and school activities to ensure safety and well-being.
Requirements:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Must possess (or obtain) valid State Certification in Social Studies.
- Emergency/provisional certificates are acceptable per issuing state conditions.
- Must complete required state testing for certification.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license.
- Must pass a background investigation (Public Trust).
