Job description: Director of Finance and OperationBrooklyn, NYWe are currently in search of a Director of Finance and Operations for a music focused educational non-profit. The position is Hybrid in Brooklyn, NY. The Director of Finance and Operations will play key role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization as they grow. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Operations is a member of the senior leadership team and will work closely with the Program and Development Leads, as well as the board. Must be capable of both in-person and remote work. This position is on a hybrid schedule (mostly remote, some in-office days required in Brooklyn. This position is permanent, with an anticipated salary of $100k.Our Ideal Candidate:· 7+ years of Nonprofit Accounting required· Able to develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets· Highly proficient with QuickBooks or other Accounting Software· Strong understanding of 501(c)3 requirements, GAAP, audit processes, and other compliance standards· Ability to oversee payroll and benefits administration· Background in grant management/compliance and managing donor-restricted fundsHow You Will Spend Your Day:· Lead organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in collaboration with the executive director and board.· Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including expense approvals, vendor payments, and cash flow monitoring.· Manage relationship with outsourced accounting firm to ensure compliance with financial policies and standards.· Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting, including grants management and donor-restricted funds.· Implement and maintain internal controls, reviewing financial statements monthly with the executive director.· Lead administrative functions such as managing IT services, insurance policies, and vendor contracts.· Oversee HR administration, including employee onboarding, payroll management, and benefits administration.· Maintain and develop policies and procedures in partnership with the executive director and legal counsel to support efficient operations.We’d love to hear from you.If this sounds like the job for you, we would love to help make that happen.
