Lewiston, Maine

Riverside Eye Center is seeking a Medical Receptionist, to work in the Lewiston office with occasional travel to the Norway office. Individual will be responsible for admission of patients, collecting insurance information, collecting patient balances and/or copayments, prompt check in and out of patients, and for coordinating all appointment calls. \n

Requirements of the Medical Receptionist:

  • Ability to successfully manage urgent and sometimes confrontational interactions with patients while maintaining practice standards.
  • Create a good impression as a friendly, empathetic composed and efficient individual.
  • Ability to type is mandatory.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is mandatory.
  • Medical office experience a plus
  • Medical terminology a plus
  • Basic computer and MS Suite knowledge

Benefits of the Job:

  • Starting pay at $18, with increase to $19.50 after 1 year after achieving ‘Certified Eye Care Professional’ designation (paid for by practice) and up to $26 with additional training and eye care medical practice experience.

Responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist:

  • Schedule/reschedule patient appointments.
  • Utilize triage spreadsheet for emergent patients.
  • Collect patient balances/copays.
  • Assist patients with office paperwork (AOB, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Schedule patients referred to the practice for all providers.
  • Prepare and complete Superbills daily.
  • Maintain pertinent office spreadsheets.
  • Complete schedule orders in a timely manner.
  • Complete monthly training as designated by the practice.
