UK imposes lockdown on city of Leicester

Supplied video obtained Tuesday, June 30, 2020, of British health minister Matt Hancock speaking in parliament on Monday. Mr Hancock says the seven-day infection rate in Leicester is 135 cases per 100,000 people, three times higher than the next highest city. “Given the growing outbreak in Leicester, we cannot recommend that the easing of the national lockdown due to take place on the 4th of July happens in Leicester,” he says. “From tomorrow, non-essential retail will have to close, and as children have been particularly impacted by this outbreak, schools will also need to close from Thursday.” (AAP VIDEO/Supplied/parliamentlive.tv)
