Coronavirus Australia: Anger as Nathan Turner’s death ruled not COVID-19 relateed


There is palpable anger in the Queensland town of Blackwater after it was revealed that a local man who died last week, and whose passing was pinned on coronaviurus, did not have the condition at all. 

Hundreds of locals queued up to be tested amid fears of an outbreak. But an autopsy released yesterday showed no trace of the virus in the body of Nathan Turner.

Already thousands of people have signed a petition demanding Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and the state’s chief health officer apologise for the bungle.

Australia has recorded a total 7200 cases of COVID-19, with 3095 in New South Wales, 1653 in Victoria, 1058 in Queensland, 440 in South Australia, 591 in Western Australia, 226 in Tasmania, 107 in the Australian Capital Territory and 30 in the Northern Territory.
